Why We Love Our Gluten Free Lifestyle (And You Should, Too!)

Our gluten free lifestyle has helped us establish a healthy-living routine and allowed our bodies and minds to flourish. While the jump may seem daunting, it can also be revitalising and energizing. Gluten is a cause of many conditions, illnesses and other unfavorable health issues and so removing such from your diet can feel freeing, to say the least. In fact, wheat, which possesses a significant amount of gluten, is one of the top-eight allergens in the world, with estimates of up to 70% of the population having gluten sensitivity - and most of that goes unnoticed.

Humans don’t fully digest wheat and so what’s left over ferments to produce gas and associated digestive health issues, such as bloating. Wheat is also a leading cause of leaky gut syndrome, which leaks toxins into your bloodstream. As well as these issues, wheat is also a pro-inflammatory agent, which means it is rapidly converted to sugar to cause a rise in the body’s insulin levels which causes an array of problems.

While wheat isn’t always inherently bad, many manufacturers strip wheat of all the nutrients, stripping it of it nutritional value. That means that there are certainly other and even better options when sourcing dietary options. And doing so, doesn’t have to be difficult or unpleasurable. In fact, there are a huge number of gluten free products that live up to their counterparts and the levels of great care that go into their production often mean they’re even tastier.
